Message from the Principal

Dear Valley View Families,
Welcome to Valley View!
I am excited to join the Valley View community and begin this school year together. I look forward to getting to know our students and families, supporting our dedicated staff, and celebrating all of the moments that make an elementary school such a special place.
At Valley View, we believe that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and excited to come to school each day. We are committed to creating classrooms where students are challenged to think, encouraged to take risks, and celebrated for both their successes and their growth. Just as importantly, we strive to build a community where kindness, respect, and belonging are part of our everyday culture.
When students feel connected, they are more confident learners. When families and schools work together, children thrive. Open communication, trust, and a shared commitment to doing what's best for kids will continue to guide our work throughout the year.
How Families Can Support Learning at Home
You play an important role in your child's success. Here are a few simple ways to support learning at home:
- Read with your child every day for 15–20 minutes to build vocabulary, strengthen comprehension, and foster a lifelong love of reading.
- Limit screen time by setting reasonable boundaries for television, video games, and electronic devices, especially during homework and before bedtime.
- Prioritize healthy routines by ensuring your child gets enough sleep and nutritious meals so they are ready to learn each day.
- Stay connected through ParentSquare and communicate regularly with your child's teacher to celebrate successes, discuss progress, and address questions or concerns.
- Create consistent routines for reading, homework, and bedtime to help build confidence, responsibility, and independence.
- Celebrate effort, perseverance, and kindness to help your child develop resilience and a lifelong love of learning.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and celebrate alongside them every day. Together, I know we will make this a year filled with meaningful learning, strong relationships, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Warmly,
Mallory Emmons
